It’s been a rough few months. The pandemic began in March, classes, finals, and my summer internship have all been held online, and then Tropical Storm Isaias hit. Needless to say, my sleep schedule hasn’t been the best, and when I lack sleep, it really shows in my under-eyes. Since none of the eye creams I have in my current supply seemed to be strong enough to tackle my under-eye bags, I decided to look for an alternative. When I came across VIIcode Skin Care’s Oxygen Eye Masks, I knew I needed to give them a try! I’m thrilled to be reviewing their eye masks for today’s post. They kindly gifted me these a few weeks ago, and I’ve been loving them ever since they first came out of the box.
I was really excited when I found out that these were available on Amazon. I’ve found that I’m more likely to hit ‘add to cart’ for skincare products on Amazon given the frequency I shop there, so I’m glad that these are readily available on Prime. They arrived within just one day! There are 6 pairs per box, and you can use 3 per week or whenever you need some extra hydration under your eyes. I like how convenient and thin the packaging is, so it’s really easy to keep a pair in my bag just in case I want to put them on during a long car ride.
There are several benefits of these masks that I wanted to touch on. First, they make your under-eye area feel instantly refreshed and leave a cooling effect once you take them off. Since I’m not a morning person, this cooling effect is really helpful for me and provides that extra boost that I need to wake me up! Another benefit that these eye masks provide is that they “moisturize and soothe the delicate area of skin beneath the eyes.” Because of this, I think it’s a great idea to use a pair the night before you plan to wear a full-face of makeup. That way, your under-eye area will be as smooth and hydrated as possible, and this should help your concealer remain crease-free and non-cakey throughout the day! These eye masks also claim to “minimize visible signs of aging around eyes” and “reduce fine lines and wrinkles effectively.” Unfortunately, I can’t really attest to whether or not these claims are true because I’m in my twenties and luckily don’t struggle with fine lines or wrinkles yet; however, if you have any of these skin concerns and have tried these masks out, I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments.
Now, let’s talk about the ingredients! The eye masks include Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PCA, Vitamin E, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis, and Algin to help hydrate, soften, and protect the skin while also reducing inflammation, preventing skin-aging, and “stimulating cell regeneration to promote healthy skin.” With the exception of Vitamin E and aloe, I hadn’t heard of the other ingredients before. The brand actually uses “rare plant ingredients [which] are hand-selected with care, direct from nature,” and such ingredients “enhance your eyes’ oxygen absorption.” They do so by promoting blood circulation around the eyes, which in turn reduces puffiness, brightens dark circles, and gives an overall more youthful appearance.
Finally, while there are many pros about this product, I think the price could give people pause. It carries a hefty price tag at $55 a box, which comes out to ~ $9 per pair. I believe in investing in high-quality skincare, and I would never overspend for a product that I didn’t think was worth the price. That being said, I would still highly recommend that you purchase a box of these and see for yourself whether or not you’d like to repurchase them.
Overall, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using this product, and I like to apply the eye masks at night to see the full effect and give them adequate time to soak into my skin. This is the first step of my skincare routine, and I apply the rest of my skincare afterwards to ensure that the eye masks adhere to my under-eye area as best as they can. For best results, VIIcode recommends keeping the eye masks on for 6-8 hours overnight while you sleep, but I think they still work well even if you keep them on for 2-4 hours during the day. They’re very effective and help me look like I got 8 hours of sleep, and I love knowing that they’re good for my skin as well. Say goodbye to your dark circles and puffy under-eye bags, and give these a try!

I feel you about the rough months. Love that there are some great eye masks available in the market. But wow! Sometimes, you need to make an investment for beauty. Gotta give this a try!
