I’ve been gone for a while to take a much needed social media break, and I couldn’t be happier to return with a review of one of my new favorite companies! I reached out to Glowie Co after seeing their Instagram page, and I was surprised to receive an email back from the company’s Founder/CEO, Annie Wang. It’s so nice (and rare) when founders invest the time to personally communicate with people interested in the brand, and Annie was very nice and responsive. Before I get to reviewing the products themselves though, I wanted to talk a bit more about the brand.
Glowie Co is an online marketplace that expedites and simplifies the process of purchasing Asian beauty products. The company has a lovely curation of authentic products from Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. They ship out of their own warehouse in California, so you don’t have to worry about drop-shipping or customs. Annie was kind enough to gift me four products to review, and here are my thoughts:
Ma Cherie Night Gloss Treatment
As I was looking through the selection of products available on Glowie Co’s site, I was intrigued by this lightweight hair serum that claimed to ‘restore shine, leaving hair silky smooth.’ For context, I have naturally thick, wavy, and frizzy hair, so I knew I had to try this. The Ma Cherie Night Gloss treatment contains honey, pearl, snail extracts, and sodium hyaluronate and has a refreshing floral and fruity scent. Although it says to apply a dime-sized amount to dry hair, I find that a quarter-sized amount works best for me personally. This helps calm my frizz and makes my hair look so shiny and healthy!
Naruko La Creme Face Renewal Miracle Essence
Essences have been a game-changer for me ever since I started incorporating one into my skincare routine a few years ago. I’m sadly running out of my Tatcha essence, so I decided to give this Naruko La Creme Face Renewal Miracle Essence a try. This is formulated with a high concentration (94.9%) of rice lees extract to even out your skin tone, increase radiance, and revitalize your skin’s moisture barrier. Enriched with amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, Naruko’s essence is not only great for improving the appearance of healthy-looking skin, but it also helps to genuinely nourish your skin with beneficial ingredients. I like to pat a few drops of this onto my face in the evening to let it sink in and work its magic overnight.
23.5°N Oriental Beauty Tea Balancing Toner
This is, by far, my favorite product in this review. I’ve been struggling with hormonal acne in my cheek area for about a year now, and it’s gotten worse in recent months due to frequent (but necessary) mask-wearing. Formulated to clear pores, purify skin, and control oil, this 23.5°N Oriental Beauty Tea Balancing Toner has been incredible for addressing my maskne. Like essences, toners can make a huge difference in your skincare routine because they can make your skin more receptive to the rest of the products you apply to your face afterward. With peppermint extract, hyaluronic acid, and oriental beauty tea, this toner helps minimize sebum production and moisturize your skin to keep your pores clear and blemish-free. This is definitely a must-have product for anyone with acne-prone skin!
Lastly, this mini mask bundle is the perfect gift for any skincare lover. The 23.5°N Mini Mask Sampler Set includes the Rice Soothing Active+ Gel Mask, Bamboo Ultra Hydrating Gel Mask, Red Pearl Barley Brightening Gel Mask, and Oriental Beauty Tea Balancing Gel Mask. My personal favorite is the rice mask because it soothes, brightens, and evens out my skin in just 20 minutes! I also like to pair the balancing mask with its respective toner (mentioned above). Every mask included in this set is multipurpose, so they can be used as a 20-minute wash-off mask or as an overnight moisturizer 🙂
Thanks again to Glowie Co for gifting me the products in this post!
