Over the last few weeks, I’ve fallen completely in love with the entire Drunk Elephant brand. My sensitive skin is incredibly grateful for their natural, yet very effective, products. I’ve tried plenty of other skincare brands that have some decent products, but I found that they typically only work well when used alone. Once I tried incorporating them into my full skincare routine, the product I was testing never really seemed to mesh well with any other products – even the ones in the brand’s own line. Drunk Elephant is the first brand for which I can say that I truly think all of their products are good. Whether you use them alone or together, they work just as well! Drunk Elephant gifted me The Littles, which is a set of nine travel sizes of their products – the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser, C-Firma Day Serum, B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum, T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, Protini Polypeptide Cream, Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense SPF 30 and the C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream – packaged in a bright aqua waterproof travel bag. These are some of my favorite products included in the set that I find perfect for everyday use:
- C-Firma Day Serum – Whether it’s through drinking orange juice, taking vitamin supplements, or applying the C-Firma Day Serum, it’s always good to get your daily dose of vitamin C! Drunk Elephant’s website describes this as “a super-potent vitamin C day serum packed with a powerful antioxidant complex, essential nutrients, and fruit enzymes [all of which will help] neutralize pollution, environmental stressors, and the damaging effects of free radicals.” I’ve incorporated this serum into both my morning and nighttime skincare routine, and I’ve found it especially beneficial to apply in the morning. As a busy college student taking five classes, I typically don’t have the time to wear makeup on an everyday basis. That being said, I do make sure to leave time for my morning routine, and I always apply this to my face to give my skin a brighter appearance!
- Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense – If you’re in a huge rush in the morning and only have time to apply one product, it should always be sunscreen. Throughout childhood, moms always told us to apply sunscreen before leaving to go outside. It’s time to finally start listening! The Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense is, in my opinion, one of Drunk Elephant’s most underrated products. It’s a “tinted daily sunscreen loaded with potent antioxidants like astaxanthin, grape juice, and sunflower shoot extracts to minimize the appearance of photoaging for a more youthful-looking complexion.” The sunscreen is also infused with marula oils, which allows the product to deliver moisture without leaving a white cast on your skin! Given my medium complexion, I was admittedly a bit wary about the tinted aspect of this product; however, I found that the tint is actually universally flattering, and it leaves the skin glowy – but not oily! I’ve tried many other sunscreens which eventually ended up making me look oily throughout the day, but I’ve had no such issues with Umbra Tinte. I love how this sunscreen has so many more benefits than others, and it’s at a very fair price point too ($36).
- Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil – As someone with combination skin, I’ve always been hesitant to apply a facial oil to the oilier parts of my skin. After doing some research, however, even though it may seem counterintuitive, adding an oil to your routine will actually help your skin. When your skin lacks the moisture it needs, it overcompensates by producing more oil, and this is why you end up looking very greasy. The Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is derived from the marula fruit and is “untouched by any chemical or fragrance, natural or synthetic, and remains in its purest form.” Since using this, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin’s texture and evenness. I found that the best way to incorporate this into my routine is to mix it in with my moisturizer, and this leaves my skin feeling extra hydrated.
- Protini Polypeptide Cream – Before I found Drunk Elephant, I used to use two different moisturizers, one for the oily sections and one for the dry sections. Now, with the Protini Polypeptide Cream, I am happy to say that I’ve finally found a product that can adequately moisturize my entire face. This is a “breakthrough protein moisturizer combines an unprecedented array and concentration of signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids and pygmy waterlily for visible and immediate improvement in the appearance of skin’s tone, texture, and firmness.” The product has a gel-like, lightweight consistency while delivering the hydration of a thick cream. For best results, pair this with the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, and your skin will feel the most hydrated it’s ever been.
- Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser – Although it’s important to apply the right products to your skin, it’s just as important to wash your face and allow your skin to breathe. The Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser has “a unique blend of mild surfactants and makeup dissolving emollients [and] rinses away without an ounce of residue, leaving skin clean and soft.” While other cleansers tend to make my skin feeling stripped of moisture, I haven’t had that problem with this. I love using this cleanser to wash my face in the shower after a long day of classes!
Overall, I would be completely happy if this were the only skincare brand I could use for the rest of my life. I love how I can both see and feel how beneficial these products are for my skin. Thanks again to Drunk Elephant for sending these along! Which Drunk Elephant products would you like to see a review of next?
