I had the pleasure of dining at Loreley earlier this week with a friend, and I wanted to share my dining experience with you here! We had a 6:30pm reservation and were seated immediately upon arriving. Since it was 60 degrees outside (which is warm for a winter evening in NYC), we opted to sit outdoors in their garden space.
In the photos above, you can see what their outdoor and indoor dining areas look like. In addition to having a wall of lovely well-lit greenery and florals, the outdoor seating area features plastic dividers in the middle of long tables so as to create separation between parties. A QR code can be found on each table to access the restaurant’s menu on your phone. I appreciated these extra COVID-friendly steps that Loreley took to help make their guests feel safe.
For drinks, we ordered the Boozy Black & White Hot Chocolate and Strawberry Frosé. Made with four roses, hot chocolate, and toasted marshmallows, the boozy hot cocoa was delicious and a nice warm treat! I enjoyed this towards the end of the meal when the temperature dropped down to the high 40s. The marshmallows and candy cane toppings certainly make this look like the perfect winter drink.
The Strawberry Frosé was made with rosé, vodka, strawberry purée, and mint; this was sweet, refreshing, and an excellent complement to the appetizer and entrees we ordered. Of the two drinks we ordered, my personal favorite was the Strawberry Frosé.
We ordered the Nachos smothered in cheese & topped with sour cream and black bean corn salsa for our appetizer. I’m so glad that we didn’t order two separate appetizers because this portion size was generous. The nachos not only tasted great, but it was also a fantastic portion size to share between two (maybe even three?) people. I still had leftovers to take home after the meal!
Finally, for our entrees, we ordered the Hanger Steak and Loreley Burger. The Grilled Hanger Steak was served with french fries and mixed salad, and it was so tasty! I also had leftovers from this dish, and the steak was just as good when I reheated it the next day for lunch.
The Loreley Burger was served with grilled tomatoes, sautéed onions, and gouda cheese. My friend loved it and said she’d order it again. Like the nachos, both entrees were great portion sizes for the price. We were very full by the end and had no room for dessert.
All in all, I really enjoyed my dinner at Loreley. My favorites from the meal were the Strawberry Frosé, Nachos, and Hanger Steak, so I’d definitely recommend getting those for your next meal here. The ambiance and decor were great for a casual night out with friends, and I’d love to return during the summer to try out any seasonal cocktails they have then.
What to order from Loreley: Strawberry Frosé, Nachos, and Hanger Steak.
